Camp Kum-Ba-Ya

Camp Kum-Ba-Ya work day to November 16. Gate opens at 7:00 am.  You are welcome to come on Friday evening after supper and stay the night.  Lunch will be provided.  Be sure to bring your favorite tools – don’t forget warm gloves and your closed toe work boots.  All skill levels are needed.  See you there!

Labor only projects

  • Clear brush from woods in open spaces and along paths and trails
  • Cabin maintenance
  • Roof maintenance
  • Carpentry
  • Power washing
  • Preparing old buildings for renovations
  • Split firewood
  • Organize the Craft Closets
  • Organize the Games (and make sure all the parts and pieces are there)

Minimal cost work

  • Convert light fixtures to LED or replace ballasts (bath houses)
  • Replace cross at vesper area

Major Projects

  • Grading work to help with drainage issues
  • Cabin upgrades

Specialty Areas Where Your Help Is Needed:

  • Electrical Work:inspection of all facilities, repairs/upgrades, lots of misc.
  • Interior Painting:women’s dorms
  • Yard Work: Clear brush from woods in open spaces and along paths and trails
  • Small Engine Repairs: weed eaters, mowers, chainsaws, leaf blowers, golf carts
  • Interior Work:plumbing, carpentry, lots of miscellaneous
  • Exterior Work:Door repairs, window screen repair, minor roof repairs
  • Facilities Walk-Through:Help inspect all facilities, suggest repairs/upgrades. Help prioritize maintenance
